I am wondering if anyone could give me some info on the Spearhead Trident 5000 Gang Flail Mower or the Peruzzo (Triflex) Gang Flail Mower.

We are looking at the Spearhead Trident 5000 Gang Flail Mower or the Peruzzo (Triflex) Gang Flail Mower to add to our fleet. We would like to put one of these unit into a Council Parkland and Sports turf environment and would like to know the life we would get out of these machines and how owners have found the performance and if they have found any faults or down falls with these brands.

The other thing is that I have noticed that Trident 5000 has only one rear guide roll and does not pivot forward or back to the ground contour, does this cause scalping when the roller fines low points in the surface such as drainage line ?.

At the moment we are running cylinder mowers and like many other Council we wish to do away with high maintenance costs related to Cylinders. The only gang flail fine cut mower available in Australia is the Peruzzo (Triflex) (http://www.peruzzo.it/eng/index.php?c=6&wh=1&id=38), there is not a Spearhead unit in Australia; however we have asked our local importer of Spearhead to bring one out for us to Trial .

Any help anyone can give me in selecting the right machine for us would be greatly appreciated.
